The Toward EXcellence, Access & Success Grant Program provides money for college for academically prepared students who have financial need. Students may receive awards in the amount of $1200 per semester for university studies, $470 per semester for junior college, or $700 per semester for technical school. These are not one-time awards. Student who continue to meet eligibility requirements may continue to receive award for up to 150 semester hours or six years. In general, students must meet the following requirements:
1. Be a Texas resident.
2. Complete the recommended or distinguished achievement program.
3. Register with Selective Services if applicable.
4. Have financial need and apply for financial aid.
5. Have no felony drug convictions.
6. Enroll at least 3/4 in a public or private university, junior college, or technical school.
