Mrs. Newcomb has been employed by Medina ISD since August 2009. She holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education from East Texas Baptist College and a master's degree in educational administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. She has also completed advanced coursework with counseling and superintendent certifications through Texas A & M University at Commerce. Mrs. Newcomb has worked in the field of education for twenty-two years, including seven years as a classroom English teacher in grades seven through ten, three years as a school guidance counselor, one year as a high school assistant principal, and ten years as a high school principal.

Mrs. Newcomb is the wife of Cody Newcomb, superintendent of Center Point ISD. They have a son, Slade, who is four, and three older children--Jason, Kathryn, and Justin.
